I have a deep concern regarding the assistant who server me last Sunday afternoon (8th March). I bought a sandwich with a £10 note was given change and then left, however the assistant came running out and asked me back in, to show me that she believed the £10 note I had paid with was counterfeit. Being very surprised and upset by this I gave her a second £10 note instead, whereupon she inspected it and said that this was was also counterfeit. I found it hard to believe, but I had gotten both out of an ATM that morning so perhaps they were. Anyway I took them back and paid with my debit card. There was a long queue behind me and I felt humiliated in front of everybody. I believed her, but a few days later decided to take them to my bank and see what they said. The bank put them through their checking machine and pronounced they were genuine which stunned me again. If the assistant had kept hold of them as she might have done believing they were counterfeit I would have indeed lost £20 so I think some of your staff need educating about how to properly check for counterfeits.
