Sha-Ka Coffee House & Eatery

Had lunch there today. A small coffee/eatery, tucked away on York Place, but well worth going there. The owner was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. The food absolutely spot on for us. In fact we probably ordered too much in the end with various fries etc. The vegan Poke Bowls we had were so tasty and very filling. Highly recommend people give the place a visit. 5 stars for everything including value.

We came yesterday hoping to try the food and have a drink, but unfortunately they had already run out of food by the time we arrived. We didn’t mind, and the food looked absolutely phenomenal, so we made sure to come back today—and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible, full of flavour and beautifully presented. Everything we ordered was spot on. They’re also really good at swapping things out to suit your needs—there was an example where someone asked for no coconut and they were happy to make a tempura batter as a substitute, which was great to see. The atmosphere was just as lovely as it looked, and the whole experience felt really welcoming. Overall, a solid 10 out of 10 from me. We’re really glad we came back and would definitely return again!

There are less than a handful of really good, that is consistently good, cafeteria restaurants hereabouts. Sha-Ka is one of 'em. I try to get along whenever I'm in town, which often doubles up with a beach walk, tide willing. There is a loosely hawaiian theme in this lovely little place. Ruth and Tim are always welcoming and are proud of their menu, and with very good reason. But don't tell too many folk, I for one would like to preserve Sha-Ka just the way it is...
