This is my favourite bakery in Liverpool. I started my own business about a year after they did, and I’ve always looked up to these women as an example of what I wanted my place to stand for. I’m always happy to see a queue outside on Saturdays when I drive past. The bread here has real depth — a gentle tang from proper, controlled fermentation. You can taste the wild yeast and the quality of the wheat. Nothing feels rushed. The pastries are beautifully laminated: defined layers, light yet structured, never greasy. The crumb is open where it should be — light but not fragile. Nothing is overly sweet, nothing excessive. To me, that says everything about a kitchen’s confidence. Flavour comes from real vanilla beans, dates, nuts, seeds, finely ground cocoa, and a proper balance of salt. This is high-level patisserie executed with restraint. No gimmicks, no ego — just skill and respect for ingredients. A much-loved local independent, and true masters of their craft.
