I was disappointed and somewhat surprised when I was told by staff that they couldn't mince a small quantity of pork for me to use in a pork and steak mince mix.The reason given was that the mincer only minces large quantities. I have previously bought small quantities which have been freshly minced. I am somewhat surprised that a butcher's could not accommodate my request, for a number of reasons: 1. Butchers generally do accommodate requests for specific cuts, weights etc (including small weights). 2. Harrogate has a high proportion of elderly people who live alone and who will not consume large quantities of meat. 3. It should not matter whether the mincer only minces large quantities. I assume some sausages will contain high quantities of pork therefore I would assume it would not be problematic to mince a larger quantity of pork than I had requested. I note on google reviews that a reviewer commented that "Sometimes I want a tiny amount for just one person and they always go out of their way to give me a perfect cut, no trouble at all". Unfortunately my experience suggests that this approach seems to have changed. I have also bought larger quantities and joints of meat at the shop when cooking for friends/family. I will not be returning to this shop. I went next door to M & S to buy a small quantity of aberdeen angus 5% fat minced beef and a small quantity of minced pork 10% fat.

Excellent quality meats very friendly young man severed me. Great quality all round.

Turkey is the best for christmas

Do wish they would be more mindful of hygiene and wear plastic gloves before touching the meats. I notice that all use the till for handling money, scratch their heads and then go to touch the meat products. Unbelievable and should be trained to handle foods properly!!! Also not a friendly butchers but very quick to take the money. Wont be back.
