Our go to café in Scarborough with lovely coffee, cakes and focaccia.
Had an excellent lunch there today: efficient, friendly staff; food perfect and very reasonably priced. Based on what I ate and from what I observed, I'd return happily and I'll recommend it to anyone. Well done to everyone concerned.
The ingenuity, hard work and sheer determination of the young gives me great hope for the future of our country. Accordingly I will never dismiss the preparation of food as anything other than an art-form, and in Olive we have all of the above qualities in spades. Artisan cakes, generously filled focaccia sandwiches, excellent coffee; all inspired and authentically executed by the young owner, courtesy of her previous experience, and of working in Italy? The modest premises are clean and bright and definitely put a glow into Bar Street, a favourite Old Scarborough haunt of mine. Olive is a gem. Top marks! Update 2026: Olive goes from strength to strength. It's a credit to Scarborough and all driven by Katie's skill and passion for good home-made food and excellent coffee. Italian themed, as good as you'll get anywhere outside of Italy. Accept no imitations. Ten stars!
Love this coffee shop , perfect coffee and the cakes are so nice , staff are also very friendly and exceptionally polite . Lovely shop best in area .
