We used SHM Construction for our loft conversion in summer 2025 and we were really pleased with their work. Jason Hawkins was our main point of contact and was great from start to finish. He made sure he understood our requirements and that everything was completed on time. The job could have been a good deal more complicated if we had tried to get the many different tradesmen to complete each aspect of the project but Jason and his team were able to manage everything on our behalf and completed an excellent job. We were really happy with the outcome and would highly recommend SMH Construction to others who are looking to at completing a building project.

SMH completed our single storey rear extension, external building in place of our old garage and raised patio. The work was completed on schedule with thought at each stage how to minimise impact on us while we continued to live in the house throughout. We found the team skilled, lovely and approachable. Jason has been great throughout. The initial team including Luigi and Steve were great to have on site, Ash was fabulously skilled with all the carpentry work required and Frank was invaluable. These were just some of the team who were all great throughout. Working hard and smoothing out issues as they arose and a pleasure to have around. The external suppliers Jason was able to direct us too for other aspects of work have also been great. We are happy with the finished work and would recommend! Thank you to all at SMH.

Jason and team at SMH did a superb job for us with a side and back single storey extension. They calmly worked through big challenges on the way (like hidden sewers) and have good relationships with structural engineers and architects which all helped. They team are made up of excellent guys, big shout to Luigi, Rich, Tom and Frank who are all so skilled and were easy to have around during the build. I would highly recommend SMH to anyone interested in building work in the Bristol area.

Engaged SMH Construction to build a large wrap around single storey extension. The end result is everything I wanted. More importantly was the team that spent 6 months creating it. All the guys from SMH were professional, friendly and a joy to work with. Any major works is a stressful experience but SMH made the whole project bearable. From building/plumbing/fitting I knew what was happening and when. Post build there was a slight issue with the new boiler (not SMH’s fault) but they came straight back and resolved without a question. Jason, Tom and the whole team I can’t recommend highly enough. I shall be using them again for future works.

SMH recently completed our double storey extension and we couldn't be happier with the result. Such a major project on the house (especially when working from home) is always going be testing at times but every one of Jason's team made the process as smooth as possible by being communicative, tidy, considerate and damn good in their crafts, as well as being all round decent guys. The project was delivered on time and there were no surprise costs in addition to what was quoted at the outset. The result is fantastic and I can't recommend SMH highly enough.
